Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality City Orchestra Left Its Mark on the Stage with Turkish Melodies and World Music
Meeting music lovers at the 27th International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality City Orchestra brought Istanbul's cultural heritage and rich musical tradition to the stage.
Conducted by Mehmet Üstüner Büyükgönenç, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality City Orchestra gave an unforgettable concert at the Kültürpark Kemal Sunal Amphitheatre with a repertoire featuring both classic Turkish works and distinguished selections from world music.
Works Spanning from the Past to the Present Came to Life Once Again
Taking the stage as part of the festival, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality City Orchestra left its mark on the evening with a performance that attracted art lovers of all ages. Reinterpreting distinguished works spanning from the past to the present with its unique style and powerful stage performance, the orchestra revived melodies that have remained in memories for years, offering the audience a special evening filled with music. Performing with a wide repertoire ranging from timeless classics to internationally renowned selections, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality City Orchestra made a lasting impression on the festival stage with its accomplished ensemble of 38 instrumentalists, 4 vocalists and 1 conductor. At the end of the concert, H. Gürhan Ozanoğlu, Co-President of FIDAF and Vice Chairman of the Festival Committee, presented a plaque to Orchestra Conductor Mehmet Üstüner Büyükgönenç on behalf of the orchestra.
