The Colours of Cultures Reflected Through Folkloric Dolls
At the 27th International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival, works carrying the traces of the past, the colours of different cultures and the powerful performances of young musicians provided art lovers with unforgettable moments.
The World Costumes Exhibition, Üstün Gürtuna Folkloric Doll Collection Exhibition and From Past to Present: Festival Photographs Exhibition, opened at the Atatürk Cultural Center, together with the concert performed by the Büyükçekmece Municipality Youth Symphony Orchestra, added a unique colour to the festival atmosphere.
Costumes, Folkloric Dolls and Unforgettable Photographs Together
The special exhibitions held as part of the festival offered visitors the opportunity to closely view works reflecting the traces of different cultures. While the World Costumes Exhibition reflected the richness of world cultures through the traditional costumes of different countries, the Üstün Gürtuna Folkloric Doll Collection Exhibition brought together with art lovers folkloric dolls dressed in traditional costumes representing the characteristics of different regions and cultures. The From Past to Present: Festival Photographs Exhibition, which forms the memory of the festival, shed light on the festival's colourful history through special photographs from the events held over the years. Bringing together different reflections of art and culture, the exhibitions will continue to welcome visitors at the AKM Türkan Saylan Foyer Area until 1 August.
