The World's Best Festival Reached the Top for the 12th Time
The International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival, which brings cultures together under the values of friendship, fraternity and peace, has once again crowned its international success.
For 27 years, the festival has brought together artists and cultures from different parts of the world in Büyükçekmece and has now been selected as the "World's Best Festival" for the 12th time by CIOFF (International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts), UNESCO's official partner.
Selected as the "World's Best Festival" for the 12th Consecutive Time
Continuing uninterrupted for 27 years under the leadership of the Mayor of Büyükçekmece, Dr. Hasan Akgün, the International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival has maintained its leading position among the world's festivals by achieving this distinction for the 12th time. During the award ceremony held as part of the festival, the award, which brought great pride, was presented by CIOFF President Muammer Arslan. The award was received by the Acting Mayor of Büyükçekmece, Hakan Çebi, and H. Gürhan Ozanoğlu, Co-President of FIDAF and Vice Chairman of the Festival Committee.

The Acting Mayor of Büyükçekmece, Hakan Çebi, stated that the International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival being selected as the "World's Best Festival" for the 12th time was a great source of pride, saying:"Today, we are once again experiencing a great sense of pride and honour on behalf of Büyükçekmece. CIOFF (International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts), the official partner of UNESCO, is one of the world's most respected international cultural organizations, working to protect, preserve and pass on the world's cultural heritage to future generations. To be honoured once again with the 'World's Best Festival' award by such a distinguished organization is a great honour for all of us. Under the leadership of our Mayor of Büyükçekmece, Dr. Hasan Akgün, our International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival has been organized continuously for 27 years. With its vision of bringing different cultures together under the values of friendship, fraternity and peace, our festival has once again been deemed worthy of the title of the 'World's Best Festival' this year, achieving this remarkable success for the 12th time. I sincerely thank the CIOFF family, our Festival Committee, our volunteers, our artists, and the cherished Büyükçekmece family, who have embraced our festival with the same enthusiasm for many years.
